Okorocha Lauds Promasidor on Youth Development

Owelle Rochas Okorocha, executive governor of Imo State has commended Promasidor Nigeria Limited, makers of Cowbell Milk for supporting the state government in the development of youths in the state.

 Governor Okorocha gave the kudos on the occasion of a courtesy visit by a team of the company’s top management led by Mr. Kachi Onubogu, the general manager marketing to the Government House in Owerri, at the weekend.

 Also in attendance were the state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Hon. Kenneth Enelu and the Imo state chairman of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Mr. Sonny Udubuisi Okpara. “I’d like to commend you for the gesture because we have been seeking for private sector partnership in many areas, especially in the area of education as regards the adoption of schools and sponsorship of educational competitions. Cowbell is a household name and I believe we can also engage in a lot of cooperation in terms of trade and commerce with our people,” Okorocha said.

 Okorocha also intimated the Promasidor team with the various areas of need like adoption of schools and the sponsorship of school quiz competitions which the company can assist the government of Imo state in.

 He also affirmed the commitment of the state to ensuring a suitable business environment for companies operating in the state. The Imo commissioner for Youth and Sport had earlier intimated the governor about the efforts of Promasidor in sponsoring youth sports in the state. Cowbell Milk, one of the company’s brands is the sole sponsor of the Imo State mock Champions League for local soccer clubs of young people organized by the state chapter of YSFON.

 During the visit, Onubogu told the governor about the intention of the company, as producers of brands that develop the body and mind, to partner with the state not only in the area of youth sports but also in education and other areas that will aid human development and better the society.

 Onubogu intimated the governor with the successes of Promasidor in the development of Mathematics in the country through the National Secondary School Mathematics Competition (NASSMAC), which the company has sponsored nationwide for many years and has been yielding good results. He also acquainted him with the various programmes for schools that the company had been involved in, in other states of the country.

The general marketing noted that the Imo governor’s antecedents as a successful businessman and philanthropist and his declaration that his government is on a rescue mission for the state inspired in the company, the desire to work with the new government in Imo.
